Guidelines for Inclusion in UCLA’s Social Media Directory

For inclusion in the official UCLA Social Media Directory, your account(s) must adhere to the following policies and you must complete our “Social Media Account Submission Form.”

Note: only UCLA staff or faculty who manage the social media account can submit a request.

If you have an edit to make to an existing entry, please contact us.

General Requirements:

  1. Account represents an official UCLA department, academic unit or athletic sport
  2. Only one account per social network per department is eligible for inclusion
  3. Student-run clubs or groups are ineligible for inclusion
  4. All banner/profile art has been added to your account(s)
  5. Banner/Background art and Logo adheres to UCLA Brand Guidelines
  6. Account name follows suggested naming format
  7. Account meets additional requirements below

Social Network Specific Requirements:

Facebook

Account adheres to UCLA Facebook Standards
Must set a vanity URL and contain “ucla” in the name
Maintains weekly activity
Minimum of 100 fans
Page is at least 2 months old

Twitter

Account adheres to UCLA Twitter Standards
Account name must include “ucla”
Maintains weekly activity
Minimum of 50 followers
Account is at least 2 months old

YouTube

Account adheres to UCLA YouTube Standards
Channel name must include “ucla”
Minimum of 5 videos on channel
Account is at least 2 months old

Instagram

Account adheres to UCLA Instagram Standards
Account name must include “ucla”
Maintains weekly activity
Minimum of 50 followers
Account is at least 2 months old
